The CENTRO BRITÁNICO Y ESPAÑOL offers general courses of Spanish Language and Culture to students with or without a prior knowledge of the language. CBCE also organises tailor-made courses for Business people, and Teacher Training Courses for both native and non-native teachers of Spanish as a foreign language.

*The classes are practical, using a communicative approach and have two basic objectives:*
	* To extend students' knowledge of Spanish in all areas: vocabulary, grammar, oral and written comprehension. * To improve students' command of spoken and written Spanish via authentic materials and tasks.
Working from the premise that the learning of a language should not be confined to the classroom, we offer self-access facilities, with audio-visual materials, a well-equipped library and a selection of papers and magazines, all of which will help autonomous learning.

          Intensive courses are organised in blocks of 3 hours per day in different levels: Beginners, Elementary, Intermediate, Upper intermediate and Advanced. Courses within the academic year, from October to June may be organised in blocks of more or fewer hours a week according to the students' specific needs.

          All students will be given a written and oral level test in order to place them in the right level. Groups have a maximum number of 12 students per class to ensure personal attention and participation.

          Courses also offer REAL LIFE TASKS which will be carried out outside the classroom, in a variety of contexts within the city. These activities will allow students to use the language in a real context and to fully make the most of their time in Spain.

          Those students who want to do a more intensive course can choose from a series of options. These include Spanish for Business, Fluency practise -oral or/and written-, The History of Spanish Art and Exam coaching for D.E.L.E. (Diplomas de Español Lengua Extranjera assessed by the Spanish Ministry of Education).

         Teacher training courses are aimed at both Spanish and foreign teachers of Spanish, and as well as post-graduate students who are interested in the teaching of foreign languages in general.

         These courses are designed to meet the specific needs of each particular group of teachers and consequently will vary in content. However the main components are to update the participants' didactic knowledge, design materials to use in their Spanish classes, exchange ideas, discuss and find solutions to individual teaching problems.

         A minimum of 6 candidates is required per course. Teacher training courses are open the whole year and start the first Monday of every month.

Tailor-Made Courses

The Centro Británico y Español also programmes and organises tailor-made courses which meet the needs of business people, commercial organisations, universities, and professionals in the tourism industry who use Spanish as a daily tool.
